I Got A Name
Cold Lazarus.
Yes, we finally have a name, folks!
The new project, which currently includes my partners in rhythmic tonality Adam Gould and Marc Scapelitte, and will probably expand to include more eventually, is still forging ahead at a fervent and rapid pace. Thus far, we have five original songs more or less completed and three more in the works. Adding to the fact that most of these songs run in length from anywhere between five and 10 minutes, we’re steadily closing in on an hour-long set; which is pretty close to where you’d want to be if you want to play an opening or festival-length slot somewhere.
Additionally, we’re already looking at getting into a professional studio to record a four- to five-song promo EP that will help us with future bookings and generally getting our earliest ideas down on tape for distribution.
So, yeah, things have definitely taken on a momentum of their own and I’m thrilled. It’s a rare combination to become involved in a group of musicians who find themselves instantly on the same page as far as writing and overall direction of the band, but in this case, it looks like I may have hit the jackpot.
I’m also enjoying the opportunity to take on more of a business-type role, as I’ve been reaching out to various connections I’ve made over the past few years in order to get the ball rolling on some summertime shows, as well as exploring merchandising options. It’s an all-around growing experience from a personal, professional and musical standpoint.
In the meantime, if you’re so inclined, feel free to give Cold Lazarus a “like” on Facebook to keep updated on upcoming shows, recordings and general musical endeavors that will surely come down the pipeline sooner than later.
And now, here’s some of what you can expect to find in the area this week.
